Melissa A. Ingraham, MA, NCC
Melissa is a National Certified Counselor and is pursuing licensure in New York State as a Mental Health Counselor. Melissa graduated from Regent University with a Masters in Community Counseling. Melissa provides counseling for women, men, and adolescents dealing with relational and sexual identity issues, as well as depression, anxiety, and the effects of abuse and trauma. One of her main goals in the counseling process is the integration of psychology and Christianity, so that clients can deepen their relationship with God. Professional affiliations include the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Melissa recently served as the Chairman of the Board for Exodus International, the largest Christian organization providing resources and support on the issue of homosexuality. Prior to moving to New York State in September 2006, she was the assistant director of Regeneration of Northern Virginia, an Exodus ministry. Previously, Melissa worked in Washington, DC on the 9-11 Commission (National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States), the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, and for a member of the U.S. Congress. Melissa and her husband, Garry, were married in September 2007 and have a son.
Joshua J. Nickels, MA
Josh works on a full-time basis as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. On a part-time basis he works as a Mental Health Counselor for the Christian Counseling Center. He is a husband to his faithful wife, Beth, of seven years. Josh is also a father to a beautiful, yet wildly energetic and rambunctious, 3-year old boy. He received his B.A. in Christian Ministry and Bible from Houghton College and an M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. After spending three years in full-time vocational ministry as an Associate Pastor, Josh worked in a hospital organization on an intensive psychiatric unit and, presently, on an addictions unit. Josh specializes in addictions, anxiety, depression, adolescent, marriage and family, and pervasive mental health counseling issues. He welcomes the opportunity to help you, through applying Scripture to everyday problems, in resolving the obstacles that you are presently facing.
Diane Sawyer, MA, BCCC
Diane Sawyer joined the counseling staff in 1993, primarily working with sexually abused women, and issues of anxiety and depression. Her work has expanded to include the effects of childhood trauma, such as eating disorders, self-injury, and codependency issues. She earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Liberty University. Professional affiliations include the American Association of Christian Counselors, with the designation of Board Certified Christian Counselor. She has also been specially trained to use Mind Renewal Prayer as part of the therapeutic process.
Diane is wife to Garrett J., mother of 4 adult children (Melissa, Matthew, Melody, and Meagan) and grandmother to 5 children. Her heart is to see women’s lives transformed by the power of God as He works in their minds and hearts, bringing health and wholeness.
Mary Reeves, MA
Mary recently moved here from Virginia, where she is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has worked as a counselor since 1999 in various capacities, mostly working with youth and families. As a Foster Care Case Manager, she worked with youth who were removed from their homes due to their disruptive behaviors. And as an In-Home Counselor, she worked with youth who were at risk of being removed from their homes due to their behaviors. Mary has experience working with youth with many different types of behavioral problems and concerns, including: ADHD, abuse and neglect, hair pulling, and cutting. Mary's experience also includes pre-marital and marital issues, as well as military and veteran issues, and PTSD issues for any age group.
Mary graduated from Regent University with a Masters in Community Counseling in 1999. Mary is pursuing her license as a Marriage and Family Therapist here in New York. Her husband recently got out of the Navy after serving our country for more than 13 years. They have been married for over seven years and have two children. Mary welcomes the opportunity to share God's love in any circumstance you are going through.
